What information I collect about you

When you first come to my yoga sessions, I will ask you to fill in a Health form this collects the following information:

  • Name
  • Contact details (email address / mobile phone number)
  • Emergency contact details (email address / mobile phone number
  • Medical information/context that might relate to practising yoga
  • Requests to receive optional yoga-related emails

I manage all class bookings, track payments, gather information about bookings past, present and future.

For accounting purposes, I record payments and class attendance for students, so that I can manage business finances, pay any costs and pay relevant taxes.

My Email client hold contact details for people who have provided them, and allows me to invite students to yoga sessions, holds prior communications with students and send relevant information about up and coming changes to sessions or events.

My website uses the Google Analytics platform (privacy policy here) to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. Analytics is set to anonymise IP addresses: nothing I capture can be associated with an individual.

How I use information about you

I use your name and medical information on a “legitimate interests” basis to allow me to provide the best possible experience of yoga practice. While students are always responsible for their own safety, I try my best to be aware of possible health issues so I can offer modifications and adjustments to meet particular circumstances where possible in a studio environment.

Where optional contact details have been provided, I also use them in line with “legitimate interests” to ensure the smooth running of my yoga sessions. Including communicating directly in the event of any changes to sessions or when payment is required. Providing this information is optional, however without I am unable to book students into sessions or send information about changes to sessions.

I never share any information provided to me by students with any third parties apart from those mentioned, or in any way that is not directly related to providing yoga teaching.

Marketing

Where students have requested to be added to my mailing list, I use provided contact details on a “consent” basis to send out communications, primarily by text message and email. Students are free to start or stop receiving any such communications, by directing a request at me anytime they wish to stope receiving information using the contact form info@eatsleepdoyoga.co.uk

Data retention

Student contact details and information who have not been to a session for two years will be deleted from my records. Unless permission has been given to continue to receive emails regarding up and coming events.
